1973
brought in fresh attitudes. Paul was enjoying success with
Wings and began to loosen up a bit on denying
full reunion questions from the press. Meanwhile George, Ringo
and John continued to join in each other’s sessions
when logistics permitted. They collectively agreed to parody
their own butcher cover, and all four agreed on the concept
and even the track selection. Meat City was packed
with a couple of big solo singles, and reached Number Three
in the States and Number Four in the UK. It went to Number
One in Canada. Maybe this animal wasn’t dead yet. For
some sessions in NYC both Paul and John utilized studio musicians
Dave Spinozza and Hugh McCracken.
