John continued on with his plan to do rock-n-roll oldies without the others. Paul was still bitter at Phil Spector and refused to have anything to do with him. Apple started to conceive releasing the Rock-n-Roll album in phases. Meanwhile John had planned on joining Paul in New Orleans for the Venus and Mars sessions to perhaps collaborate on a project, but was detoured at the last minute by Yoko, George was on tour minus the others and Ringo continued onto his next solo album.

A collection entitled Junior's Farm compiled mostly during John's famous "Lost Weekend" was released in January of 1975 and failed to top the charts as fans again sensed this as a solo Beatles compilation. Hot star Elton John appears on this collection.

Again a parody cover was used, this time a heavily edited third installment of the EMI stairwell Please Please Me/Get Back covers, since they again no one could manage to get the four together. The cover was considered for the soon to be released Beatles Blue and Red series, and decided to also be used for this collection since Junior's Farm was reminiscent of Get Back.
