With work commencing on Anthology, Paul, George and Ringo went back to an idea first conceived in the late seventies during John’s inactive period, working on John demos. Paul and Ringo also collaborated on each other’s solo efforts and put the collaborations on this collection. George was also working on a new solo album, slowly but surely, and let a few tunes slip out to help fill out the album, which was also interspersed with unplugged clips of the “Threetles” jamming to old standards on acoustic guitars and ukeleles. The electric jam sessions with Jeff Lynne remain in the can for a possible future release.
